Workflowlabs will showcase an all-new HTML5 graphics engine for Pi Automation at Broadcast India, bringing support for the EBU OGraf open specification for broadcast graphics.
The new engine enables Pi Automation to work with OGraf-compatible HTML graphics, opening up a more flexible and vendor-independent approach to on-air graphics. Built around standard web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, OGraf allows graphics to be created using familiar web development and design tools and used across compatible broadcast systems.
With OGraf, designers can create and customise on-air graphics using familiar web technologies, giving them greater creative freedom and control over the look and presentation of broadcast content. This approach also makes it easier to adapt graphics to different programme requirements without being restricted to a specific graphics vendor or proprietary design environment.
Integrated directly with Pi Automation, the new graphics engine enables broadcasters to incorporate dynamic lower thirds, logos, tickers, information graphics and other on-air elements as part of their automated playout workflows.
With OGraf support, Workflowlabs continues to expand Pi Automation around open standards, giving broadcasters greater flexibility in how graphics are designed, integrated and deployed while supporting more adaptable graphics workflows.
